They are also able to tap into a vast array of industry contacts to assist in areas such as operations, governance and tax requirements.
With 20 years’ experience in the Canadian–International capital markets specializing in the consumer products and financial services sectors, Frances has primary responsibility for the development of the Intellectual Property Fund. She applies her skills to the evaluation, transaction structuring, due diligence, contract negotiation and ongoing stewardship of the properties in the fund.
The company’s founder, David is respected at the executive-level of many of the largest pension plans in the world for his adeptness in creating solutions to seemingly intractable investment problems.
Robert has an Masters in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business. He joined Northwater following three years at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in their large corporate lending division.
Dan has 20 years’ experience in capital markets, including substantial direct experience in trading, transaction management, mandate compliance, and risk management. Before joining Northwater in 1997, Dan was a senior portfolio manager with the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS). His responsibilities include the development and implementation of new trading and portfolio management strategies. Dan oversees all of the firm’s operations and compliance requirements.
Michael is an Associate with the Intellectual Property fund. Prior to joining Northwater, Michael studied Materials Science at Trent University, and previously received a B.Sc. in Physics from Trent University.
Ms. Cassidy leads the Finance and Risk Management team which is responsible for all aspects of finance including valuation and financial reporting, taxation and operational risk management and trade settlements as related to Northwater managed or advised portfolios.
Ms. Cassidy holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Certificate in Accounting from York University (Toronto, Canada). She has received the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute and is a member of the Toronto Society of Financial Analysts.
Stephanie helps to manage the corporate accounting for Northwater. Stephanie received her Chartered Accountant designation in 2000 after articling with KPMG in their financial services practice. Since then, she has worked with financial institutions, software firms and service companies, helping to improve business processes and decrease operational risk.
Steve Redmond is Vice President of Information Technology. Mr. Redmond brings over 25 years of computer technology experience to Northwater. Mr. Redmond’s expertise in information technology supports the firm in designing and developing Northwater’s technology infrastructure and process control workflows.
Inder Bassi is an Associate with the Information Technology group. Inder has a Master of Engineering (M.Eng) in Computer Science from McMaster’s University and is also a Microsoft and VMware Certified Professional. Inder brings over six years of Information Technology experience to Northwater. He is responsible for developing and supporting Northwater’s information technology infrastructure.
Carol Ellis joined the Northwater in 1998. Ms. Ellis is currently responsible for providing marketing, client service and administrative support to the IP Fund.
Michele Pedrinha provides administrative and facilities support at Northwater.
